We are now going to delve into these differences, although some of them you may have already guessed. And it is that in private health you will not have the same salary supplements as in public health.
On the other hand, the base salary in Spanish private healthcare is usually lower than in public healthcare. In the case of the specialty of Hospital Paediatrics, these professionals, in the private sector, earn around €50,000 gross per year.

Wage gaps between the public and private sectors in Chile: evidence from longitudinal data
Despite the relevance of the topic, the literature on salary differences between employees in the public and private sectors in Latin America is scarce. This paper analyzes the wage gap between these sectors in Chile based on longitudinal monthly data from the Social Protection Survey (eps) for the period 2002-2009. In the work, the panel structure of the data is used to control for observable and unobservable factors, invariant over time, that determine the self-selection of workers between sectors and wages. The results indicate that, after controlling for these factors, the wage differential between salaried public and private sector workers disappears.
