The Risky Insured Pool system was introduced for vehicles with a high risk of damage in traffic. According to this system, insurance companies will sell the traffic insurance policy at a ceiling price, and the premiums that insurance companies receive by selling the policy are collected in a pool. The division of the premium collected in the pool and the damage paid among the companies is made by TMTB in two stages. First, 50% of the damage and premium is shared equally among the members holding a license in the traffic branch. Then the remaining 50% is calculated and distributed according to the market share of the insurance company in the relevant branch for the last three years.
With the implementation of the Pool System, the no-claim discount rates for vehicles with a high risk of damage were reduced. Taxi, Minibus, Bus, Truck, Tractor group 5th level no-claim discount from 15% to 10%, 6th level no-claim discount from 30% to 20%, 7th level no-claim discount from 45% to 30% a was dropped.
The no-claims discount rates in the old system remain current for automobiles, pickup trucks, heavy equipment, tractors, trailers, all motorcycles, tankers, and agricultural machinery, which are not included in the pool system.

What is the Purpose of the Step Application in Traffic Insurance?
With the step tariff applied to vehicle owners within the scope of no claim discount, a discount or increase is applied in the traffic insurance premium according to the driver’s previous driving performance. While this application is being made, considering how much risk the driver carries in the next policy period, it is a reward for those who cover their previous terms with no damage, and a penalty for drivers who cover them with damage. You can also check the current status of your policy and check your discount rate in order to calculate the traffic insurance policy steps.
