THINGS I WISH I HAD FOR MY FIRST BABY

THINGS I WISH I HAD FOR MY FIRST BABY

It would be an understatement to say that raising baby number 1 was difficult. Looking back, I can see that there were many baby items that could have made this period much easier. You live and you learn.

When I was pregnant with my second child, I began to think about what I could do to make parenting easier and more enjoyable. I wanted to get rid of the unneeded and find practical and useful baby items. I would say that I had it down by baby number 3. There are so many amazing products that I am constantly amazed at and I think, “I wish that I had this for my babies!”

TOP ITEMS FOR BABIES I WISH I HAD

Here’s a list I gathered from the crowd of moms who wish they had these items for their first baby. These baby items are going to be a hot items, so make sure you pay attention and add them to your registry!

1.) BÖKEE

Parenting can be a messy business. Spit-up and diaper changes are only the beginning. I spilled breastmilk and formula all over my counter far more often than I would like to admit. Most often, it was because I was trying to make a bottle and hold my baby. I tried to put them down, but they cried so hard that it was impossible to hold both.

It was so easy to rush and get a bottle made. This baby product is simple and easy to use. We added it to our top minimalist baby products list.

2.) MAMAROO 4 INFANT SEAT

No matter if it’s your first or fourth baby, you will do whatever it takes to get them to sleep. You may not think it is possible to take your baby for a walk or push them around the house in a stroller just to get them to sleep. But, lack of sleep can lead you into major despair. It would have been so much easier to do this. The Mamaroo 4 Infant Seat will be a great choice.

3.) ARM’S REACH CO-SLEEPER

A bassinet my grandmother gave me was the one I used for my second baby. When there’s so much gear to buy, it’s difficult to say no to a piece of gear such as this. It was a great place for my children to sleep in their months, but it wasn’t convenient for me to have to feed them and check on them at night.

It was higher than my bed so I had to sit straight up and check on them for any unusual noises. To lift them out of their containers or put them back in, they had to be lifted up. This is not ideal when your baby needs to be fed multiple times per night. The Arm’s Reach Cosleeper was the perfect solution for me.

4.) HAAKAA BREAST PUMP

When I breastfed my babies, I knew I drank so much milk from the other breast. Most moms end up leaking a lot of milk because of a letdown. Multiply this by how often you breastfeed… and that’s how much milk you lose!

The Haakaa Breast Pump provides a great solution. The Haakaa Silicone Breast Pump is neither electric nor manual. Instead, it suctions to the mother’s breasts and captures any milk that may be left behind. This would have been a wonderful tool to use with my children. I know I could have built quite a stash by simply sucking the milk onto the breasts of my babies while I was breastfeeding.

5.) NOSE FRIDA

This little suction tool is something else that I would have loved to have with my first child. It sounds terrible, but it basically sucking the snot from your baby’s nose. It won’t get near your mouth, but it’s not actually there!

6.) HANDS-FREE WEARABLE BREAST PUMP

Many moms find pumping breastmilk difficult. My first child was a full-time mom and I spent a lot time pumping breastmilk. It was so uncomfortable and cumbersome. Other moms can pump their entire body in just 10 minutes. I could not get enough in 20 minutes. It was stressful, and my supply quickly dwindled.

The Freemie Breast pump was the perfect choice for my third child. The cups fit perfectly in your bra and are completely hands-free. This pump allowed me to discreetly pump during meetings, and also during drive times. Multitasking is a win! The Elvie as well as the Willow are wireless options that make them even more portable than Freemie. These three options have a significant impact on breastfeeding moms’ pumping experience.

7.) INGLESINA FAST TABLE CHAIR

It was a wonderful baby product that I thought would be a good choice. It was easy to take it with me to the baby’s table while I was working in the kitchen.

8.) RING SLING CARRIER

My first-time mom was concerned that baby-wearing could lead to the baby becoming dependent on you and not being able to go to sleep alone. So I decided to not wear my baby. It was the same with my second. Guess what? It was a brutal struggle to make it through the night with my tiny babies.
