How to Replace Stroller Wheels?
How to replace stroller wheels? Your baby’s stroller is incomplete without wheels. A broken or missing wheel can make your stroller unusable and reduce the comfort and efficiency of your family outings.
Replace the wheel instead of buying a new stroller. Order the replacement wheel directly from the manufacturer to ensure safety and smooth riding for your baby. A list of replacement parts may be found in the back of your stroller’s manual.
Replacing a rear stroller wheel
The stroller’s brake should be disengaged so that the wheels can move freely.
Locate the quick-release lever near the wheel you want to replace.
The broken wheel should be removed. Push on the secondary retention button located near the quick-release lever to take the wheel off the rear axle. You will need to take out the adjusting nuts, ring, fork plate, holding plate, or other accessories depending on what stroller you have.
Place the new wheel in the stroller’s rear end. As you move the wheel into the stroller’s rear axle, push the secondary retention button or quick-release lever. Replace the ring, holding plate, and finger plate, if applicable, as well as the adjusting nut.
The quick-release lever must be locked so that the wheel does not slip out of the axle.
Replacing a Front Wheel
The stroller’s brake should be disengaged so that the wheels can move freely.
The stroller should be leaned back so that the rear wheels and the back of the handle touch each other. The front wheels should be pointed upward. You may need to lock the front wheels or place them forward if they swivel.

The broken wheel should be removed. You may need to take out the adjusting nuts, ring, holding plate, or fork plate depending on which stroller you have.
Depending on your stroller, slide the new wheel into either the front axle or the front wheel fork. As you go, push the secondary retention button or quick-release lever. Replace the ring, for the plate, holding plate, and/or the adjusting nuts if applicable in the same order you found them.
To prevent the wheel from sliding out of the axle, lock the quick-release lever and move it to the closed position.
Tips
Stroller wheels come in a variety of sizes and types, including air tires and foam-filled ones.
To ensure that the replacement wheel is in top condition, inspect it carefully.
If the air tire on your stroller is flat, you might just need to replace the inner tube.
You may need to inflate an air-tread stroller wheel before you attach it to the stroller. You will need to inflate the tire to the recommended pounds/square inch (or psi), which can be found on the tire’s sidewall.
Warnings
When you are replacing the wheel, don’t place your baby in the stroller.
Before you place your baby in a stroller, make sure that all parts are secured and locked.
