Here we will share some simple do’s and don’t that would help you get clear audio.
-
Go Away Or Get Rid Of The Background Noise
Get up and close the window, stay away from the air vent, reduce the speed of the fan, place the microphone at a suitable distance away from the mouth so your heaving breading voice is removed. Use the smooth set of keyboards and do away from the set of keyboards that make noise. Always put yourself on mute when you are not speaking.
-
Use a separate microphone
Laptop microphones are inbuilt and are of low quality so use a dedicated microphone on your set, if it is found that your microphone is taking noise from the speaker use of headphones will eliminate the echo.
-
Reduce Noise On Your Windows
Windows 10 has a microphone option that would assist in reducing the background noise. Depending on your sound hardware of your PC and the brand you are using the option may vary. Go to the control panel from Start menu and navigate to the Hardware and Sond> Sound option. Select the “recording” tab and also select the microphone device and click on the properties. Check the “levels” option. If you are facing a background noise problem then bring down the Microphone Boost option to +10.db instead of +20.db.Then set the microphone volume to 100. If we bring down the boost setting then the microphone is a quitter. Go forward and apply the changes. Lastly, go to the Enhancements tab. In some pc, this option would not be available due to a different set of hardware and drivers. Here we need to tick on the noise suppression tab. If the user is using a speaker then they might choose or tick the “Acoustic Echo Cancellation” option. Last but not least say tick on “Ok” to save all the modifications and then close the window.

Install Noise-canceling Software Or Features
The communication tools which are using are getting upgraded and have a default setting of a noise-cancellation feature. While new software is providing this feature and making life simpler for the user. Google meet has updated a feature of noise cancellation last year. Zoom too has come up with something very similar to cut down on the background noise cancellation that has been enabled but default. For this, we need to check Zoom window settings from its menu option. Then choose “Audio” in the sidebar, and later on choose the “Advance” button. Then the following option will be available” Suppress Persistent Noise” for this select auto, “Suppress Intermittent Background Noise,” for this select auto, and “Echo cancellation” for this select auto.

Nvidia Rtx Voice
After installing this option you have to choose the option to activate “Remove Background Noise” features. This would help in getting rid of the background noise from your microphone. There is some drawback to this option as it works on a system with NIDIA RTX GPUs.

Discord has to come with a noise suppression feature. To activate this while voice chatting, select the Noice Suppression tab at the bottom of Discord. They have used Krisp.ai to make this feature which is available for free on Discord.
Conclusion
Above mentioned solutions will help and make the life of the work from home user’s life more simple. Also if someone buys a good quality microphone that is built to remove the surrounding noise. They have two sets of microphone built inside it, the first mic to save the voice and the second mic to record the ambient noise. Instead of this consider buying a better quality microphone to improve the audio quality.
