Cute Headbands for Spring & Summer

If you’re a Blair Waldorf style disciple then today’s post is for you because Headbands For Women Australia it’s all about one of my favorite spring and summer accessories this year, the headband! And if you’re unfamiliar with the style icon that is Blair Waldorf then get thee to a streaming service ASAP and watch every single season of Gossip Girl because Blair’s classic, classy, feminine, sophisticated, perfectly put-together style is not to be missed. Along with her epic shade-throwing. My style is much more relaxed, casual, easy breezy and romantic than Blair’s, but we do share a love of the headband — a timeless accessory that can be worn so many different ways. Chris was happy to be left out of this one today as he travels, but not to worry, he’ll be right back here next week!

I’m particularly in love with the knot and bow headband variety right now like this one and this one because there’s just something so vintage-inspired and classic about those two styles, but really any easy, fun hair accessory that stays put in my hair and holds it back from falling in my face is awesome in my book. Of course I’m styling this pink bowed beauty with this summer-ready white cotton swing top from Zara and my Madewell Slim Boy Jeans because I love to cut the preppy polish of a headband like this with a relaxed look. But you can definitely dress this one up with a more prim and proper polished getup to channel your inner B, too. I fully support it!

And though I’m confident that most of you know how to style your hair for a headband, I do have two tips that have never failed me when it comes to styling a headband in my hair to avoid it looking a little too Toddlers & Tiaras. I forgo putting any product in my hair before I put the headband in, and also keep the curling to a minimum so it flows naturally around the stiff band. I’ve worn headbands with a part in my hair and also with my hair pulled back, sans part, and like it both ways, but the look is so much more natural when I get all of my hair placed in the headband wherever it falls, with no product in it whatsoever, and then if I need a light spray after it’s in I can do that to keep flyaways at bay. Just be careful with that so you don’t create a ton of yucky product buildup on your pretty headband over time. Side note: I’m also a huge fan of letting my hair air dry and using a thin neutral headband like this tortoise cutie or this sweet floral number to pull it back off of my face and make it look slightly more pulled together than it would otherwise.
